Health and safety (continued)

Does PenaShield smell bad?
No, but it does have a clean, detergent scent.

Can I stain, paint, varnish over PenaShield treated wood?
Yes. Although a wide variety of paints and stains have been successfully used over PenaShield treated wood, it is always a good idea to check for compatibility prior to complete application by coating a small section of treated wood with the finish to be used. Wait at least 24 hours after a PenaShield treatment before applying any protective finish. Read and follow all label instructions before use.

Can I cut or sand PenaShield treated wood?

Yes, once the wood is dry, it may be lightly sanded or cut.
